Our Story
Where It All Began
The Mailbox Club is a family-run business based in the United Kingdom, founded in 2026 by Saul & Helen Wells-Lakeland.
We are Saul, Helen, and our four chief adventurers: Ella, Adelle, Heidi, and Adam. Our home is a place where curiosity is encouraged, questions are celebrated, and faith is the compass that guides our way.
As a Christian family, we wanted to build something that reflected our values — a project that emphasises the beauty of God's world, the importance of hard work, and the joy of serving others. The Mailbox Club wasn't just born out of a business idea; it was born out of a desire to find a common goal that we could work on together as a family.
We've always felt that the most lasting lessons don't come from a screen — they come from experiences. Whether it's trying a new recipe from a far-off land or conducting a kitchen-counter experiment, we want our children (and yours!) to have open minds and adventurous spirits.
Why a series, not a stack of separate letters
We thought hard about how to build something children would stay attached to. The answer was the same one our own kids gave us at bedtime: read it like a book. Max & McKenzie's journey starts in Cairo and travels onward — and every child who joins us starts on Chapter 1 with them. No one ever opens an envelope wondering what they missed.
Learning Through Experience
Our Children Run This Too
By involving our children in the day-to-day life of The Mailbox Club, we're teaching them the seeds of entrepreneurship — that a family business is about teamwork, stewardship, and shared dreams.

They help us brainstorm the wonders of new destinations — always pushing us to go further and discover more.
The Fun Inspectors
They keep us grounded in what actually makes a letter fun for a child. If it doesn't pass their test, it doesn't go in the envelope!

Meet Max & McKenzie
Our monthly letters follow two siblings, Max and McKenzie, as they trek across the globe. Through their eyes, we invite your children to step away from the digital world and back into the tangible excitement of the post.
Every pack we send is curated by our family, for your family — with the hope that it sparks a lifelong love for discovery.
They've already packed for Cairo. The chapter starts the day your first envelope lands.
